to enhance recreation space at your lake / second home:
- Build a fire pit.
A fire pit is an excellent idea to extend the time
you can enjoy the lake. fall and winter
evenings under the stars with a warm fire are a lot
of fun. Add a few marshmallows for roasting
and you have the makings of a great family evening.

Add a swing. A swing is a simple addition that
will give you many hours of enjoyment. Check

- Install a hammock.
What can we say. Lying in a hammock in the
shade as you feel the cool breeze from the lake on a
summer day. Does it get any better? We

- Build a worm
attracting bed. Its a great way to dispose of
some of your kitchen scraps and provide ready bait
for fishing. Its a big hit with children
also. We will add an article soon on building, feeding. and maintaining a worm attracting bed.
- Keep the area
under a deck dry without costly designer materials.
We will show you how to cover the bottom of your
deck so that it provides dry usable space for a
hammock or storage.

Add birdhouses,
feeders, and plants to attract birds, butterflies,
etc. An upcoming Lake Home Accessories article will cover some easy
bird houses to build as well as what kind of plants and
where to place them to attract butterflies.
